Shorts and stripes…

Hey loves!

Yesterday I had a few errands to run and it was really hot here in Virginia so I decided to wear something that would keep me very cool! I also wasn’t going to be out super long so I didn’t want to get too fancy so I decided to wear a simple stripped shirt and pair of shorts.

My look:

Purse: Target.

Necklace: I got from JCPenny’s a few years ago and I totally forgot that I had it until a few days ago.

Shoes: Target.

Denim and Florals…

I have been obsessed with denim shirts and floral prints for the summer! In my recent shopping trips I would not go in stores looking for anything particular but I would always end up with either one of the items or both. I just can’t stay away from them! Although I have only found one sleeveless denim shirt that I really like and I have been on the hunt for more. I do have some items with floral prints but I will definitely be purchasing more of them. I’m a firm believer that denim goes with just about anything so this look is EVERYTHING in my book! This look is so, so, so, much fun for the summer! You will definitely see me recreate a look similar to this one!Denim and Florals

Recap: My weekend…

Hello fabulous people! I hope all of you had a fantastic weekend! I definitely enjoyed my weekend after a long and busy week at my new job so this weekend was much needed.

My weekend…

Saturday: I went to an annual festival that we have here in Virginia Beach called The Strawberry Festival. I have been going to this festival since I was a little girl and it’s a fun outing that I enjoy spending time with my family. The Strawberry Festival has the best food ever! It was cheat day so I ate any and everything that I wanted! From yummy fried foods to delicious desserts I ate until I couldn’t anymore! Judge me I don’t care LOL.

My look: The weather was fantastic on Saturday although it was a little hot so I went for a cool and breezy look!

Oversized cardigan: I purchased it from Cotton On last year and this was my second time wearing it. I’m totally in love with it now and I will definitely be wearing it a lot this summer.

Distressed jean shorts: I got them JCPenny’s (super old). These shorts are definitely one of my favorites!

Necklaces: Both of them are super old. One was from Forever 21 and the other was a birthday gift from a friend.

Shoes: I love these sandals but for the life of me I can’t remember where they are from.

My work look…

My second day of work went well but I am EXTREMELY tired by the end of the day! But overall I am enjoying it and working with such amazing kids who keep me laughing all day long which is a total plus. Side bar: In the last few weeks everything has been falling into place. When you wait on God and remain patient even when it seems impossible amazing things happen. So I am truly grateful for all wonderful things that have been happening in my life. So, being patient even when you don’t have it in you anymore is totally worth it because He always works everything out in your favor and gives you more than you imagined.

On Monday my classroom was freezing and I didn’t bring a jacket so I definitely learned my lesson and didn’t make the same mistake twice so I incorporated one with my outfit yesterday.

The working girl!

Hello lovelies!

I’m a working gal now! YAY! So, yesterday I started working at my first real job. Sunday night I was so nervous because I was terrified of how my day would go but it ended up being great. I work at a christian academy as a teacher and although I am not in school to become a teacher (I’m majoring in Professional Communication) I love working with children so this is just the job for me. I’m really looking forward to the many memories I’ll be making this summer with such fabulous children!

Sometimes it takes me forever when it comes to choosing outfits but the night before I pulled out the first things I saw in my closet and I loved my outfit. Being that I’m a teacher I’m moving around constantly so I wanted something that was super comfortable while remaining stylish and my ensemble completed that.

My look:

Hello all!

Hello fabulous people!

I’ve been MIA! I promised that once I was out of school for the semester that I would be back with blogging but I have been going non-stop since I have gotten home from school. I’ve been out of town, unpacking, and on Monday I’ll be starting training for my summer job so now I’m finally getting settled for the summer which means that I’ll be blogging as much as I can but maybe not everyday. I just wanted to keep you guys posted on what’s been going on with me!

Here’s a little recap from last weekend:

1. I was in Lynchburg from Friday to Saturday for my cousins graduation. She graduated from Liberty University and I am super proud of her! Goooo Meky!

ImageThis picture of her is pricesless… I love it! Totally her personality.

2. On Sunday I attended a graduation party for my cousin Rumeal and he graduated from Hampton University! Go Milly! I had the best time ever at his graduation party spending time with family, dancing and laughing.

The shirt dress…

Shirt dresses are by far one of my favorite things to wear period! Especially during the summer because they are lightweight and they can be dressed up so many ways. Off the record: You guys know that I love items that you can pair with multiple things! It makes life and rough mornings (LOL) so much easier when you have multiple items in your closet that you can wear with anything! Always buy pieces that you can mix and match with because you can create multiple outfits without buying anything. This orange shirt dress is already making a statement with the perfect color so the items paired with it did not need to over shadow it. Get yourself a shirt dress or two and be on your way! Trust me you cannot go wrong by purchasing a few of them for the summer!
