First day of junior year…

Hi loves!

Yesterday was the first day of my junior year and it was great! I am taking eighteen credits this semester and one of those courses is an internship so needless to say I will be VERY busy this semester. This semester will probably bring some sleepless nights, cryings spells due to a lot of work, and some stress but that is college. However, this semester will also bring me many memories that will last me a lifetime so I am ready for everything that my junior year brings me.

My look for my first day wasn’t planned and like most days I grabbed whatever caught my eye first in my closet. This look was perfect because it was very windy and little chilly than others days this summer.

Junior year resolutions…

Hi loves!

Today is the beginning of my junior year! YAY. I am that much closer to graduation… HALLELUJAH! However, college has gone by sooooo fast! It seems like yesterday I was a freshman just starting college. I never believed my older cousins when they told me that college would go by fast but now I totally get it!

Anyways, in honor of school starting I have created my list of resolutions and tips. Hopefully this is comes in handy for all of you!

  • Homework… FIRST. Always. I am usually motivated to get my work done right after class. However, sometimes I need to unwind or get my life (Seriously though) which usually is the case because I am little bit on the dramatic side (I totally get that from my mother) LOL. So, it’s okay to relax a little before you start your work just don’t completely put it off and when I say a little I mean around 20-30 minutes because, it is just enough time to get yourself together. When that time is up get straight in your work! Once you get your work done you have the rest of the day to do whatever!
  • Don’t try to do everything at once. Create a schedule of how you are going to get your work done.
  • Ain’t (Yes, I said ain’t) nothing wrong with asking for help! If you need help , GET IT. Either you or your parents are spending a generous amount of money on your education so use your resources on campus.
  • No one likes studying so make it fun. Find what works best for you and do it. Also, having a good study spot is super important. If you find that your study spot is becoming a nightmare find another one.

  • SLEEP. Get enough of it! Yes, college sometimes makes it impossible to get enough of it but you need it.
  • You don’t run your body. When it tells you to stop,  just do it. You can’t function or let alone get anything done if your body is not working properly.
  • It is okay to have a breakdown. The craziness of life can get you you sometimes so, if you explode or have a crying spell it is okay. When need those moments to get us together sometimes.
  • Make time for YOU. Getting a manicure or indulge in something you love to do.
  • Getting a good workout or taking a fitness class is always good to stay SNATCHED!

  • Being in clubs and different organizations at school is great! This is a great way to meet more people!
  • I am in two organizations and I hold leadership positions which also can be time consuming. However, I truly enjoy my organizations and the amazing people that I have met through them.

  • I have a super fabulous internship this semester! I am so geeked about it! I’ll share details with you guys throughout the semester 🙂
  • Enjoy it! Internships are some of the most amazing experiences that you will have in college so soak it all up.
  • WERK IT. I will be going so hard with mine because I want as much knowledge as possible in my future career field. If you have to put in extra, extra, extra hours such as working on the weekends then do it. Internships are full of endless possibilities if  you play your cards right!

Get organized:

  • I am a complete organization freak!
  • Purchasing a desk calender and well as a planner is a MUST! They make life so much easier. I keep my planner in my purse at all times.
  • When you are organized it keeps you sane and that is one less thing that you have to worry about!

  • This blog is my baby! However, it is also very time consuming.
  • My goal is to at least have posts for you all at least two or three times a week. This might be easy some weeks and others it might not be possible at all but I will do my best.

Some say that it is hard to keep resolutions but  you must have willpower! Creating you own resolutions and going through with them is possible but you must be willing to do it. With a new school year starting you have a fresh start so take advantage of this clean state. You can do it!

I hope my tips have been helpful to you! Create your own resolutions and let me know all about them! I am wishing you a successful and prosperous school year!

AUGUST: Back to school business

Hi loves!

I am sorry that I have been MIA! Last week I was busy with running last minute errands and packing as I was preparing to go back to school. On Sunday I moved into my new apartment and now that I am all settled in I have time to relax before classes start on Monday. I just wanted to give you guys an idea of why I had been missing for these last few days 🙂

The Wedding Dress

Hi loves!

I was given the opportunity by Loverly to complete a wedding look with one of many fabulous dresses from their collection! Loverly is a brides digital lifesaver because it has everything they need to take the stress away of planning a wedding. So, if any of you are planning a wedding, wedding obsessed, or just curious be sure to check Loverly out!

the wedding dress

First things first, this wedding look that I created was with my own style in mind. When I was given this challenge I was completely excited because I love weddings! The amazing dress that I chose to style is by Maggie Sottero and I completely fell in love with when I came across it. This dress caught my eye because it is classic but the mermaid style of it is what made the entire dress along with the embellishments on it. I paired the dress with multiple options for accessories and shoes simply because I would want multiple options while I would be preparing for my big day. This wedding dress can be worn for any setting for nuptials because it is classic and sophisticated. Also, this dress compliments many body types because of the mermaid style and it accentuates a woman’s curves. My one theory about wedding dresses is that they should ALWAYS compliment a brides figure!

I truly enjoyed this challenge and I am grateful for Carolyn from Loverly who thought so highly of me to do this! Also, check out some of their fabulous dresses here!

Recap: My weekend…

Hi loves! I hope all of you had a fantastic weekend!

Friday: I spent my day running errands and doing some back to school shopping. However, I chose not to capture my look because by the time I got home I was exhausted. My look consisted of one of my favorite cardigans along with a printed t-shirt and a pair of distressed shorts.

Saturday: I spent the entire day with my little cousin Laylah! Our day consisted of watching movies, playing board games, and many other things that left me worn out by the end of the day (LOL). However, I would not have spent my day any other way because while I am away at school I do not get to see her as often and phone calls are not as frequent as I would like them to be because I am so busy.

Sunday: I went to church then afterwards I spent the day school shopping with my mommy. My look was completely rushed because I woke up late and I had very little time to get ready. So whatever I spotted first in my closet was what I went with and I loved my look.

August craziness!

Hi loves!

AUGUST. Summer has come and will be coming to an end sooner than later. Reality is on it’s way very soon. No longer will I have care free days but back to… COLLEGE. Oh joy! *much sarcasm* Just kidding! I’ll be entering my junior year of college and I’m pretty excited about it. However, I am not enthused about the upcoming sleepless nights, tons of papers, and surviving off of caffeine but it means that I will be that much closer to graduation. HALLELUJAH!

My upcoming days preparing to go back to school will be crazy busy. My days will consist of packing and preparing to move into my apartment. Please bare with me because posts might not be as frequent but I will not be going MIA! As always thank you all so much for your support!
