Recap: My weekend…

I hope all of you enjoyed your weekend! I don’t know about ya’ll, but I feel like the weekends go by like the blink of an eye! However, a new week means that there is only five more weeks left in the semester for me. THANK GOD!

Saturday was quite a busy day for me! My look consisted of a few of my favorite items, which went perfectly with what feels like never ending cold weather here in VA. Also, if you haven’t noticed I wear one of my favorite denim shirts A LOT! Side note: I already have my Easter outfit planned out in my head and I need a new denim shirt to go with it. I really hope I find one while shopping this week!

My little cousin Rashaan went to Ringdance on Saturday, which is a junior prom and students get their class rings. My family and I helped him get ready and of course we went a little crazy with taking pictures of him! I seriously cannot believe that he is a junior in high school!

OOTD: Tuesday’s look…

My usual look for class is comfy and stylish! I like to dress up a little for class, but don’t get me wrong, because I have my days when I slip on a sweatshirt, jeans, and UGGs. To be honest it all depends on my mood and how much time I have in the morning.

Yesterday morning I picked the first things that caught my eye in my closet and went with it. I ended up loving my entire look! It also went perfect with the chilly weather here in VA! Side note: It’s spring, but it sure doesn’t feel like it outside! I can’t wait for it to get warm, so that I can wear all of my cute spring and summer clothes!

Recap: My weekend…

I hope all of you had a fabulous weekend! After another eventful week I enjoyed a little break and more importantly getting caught up on sleep!

Friday: After class I came home and I was in the bed for the rest of the day! I took a long nap, did a little reading, and I watched a marathon of Married at First Sight. Side note: That is my new favorite show! I can’t get enough of it!

Saturday: I went to an annual praise dance anniversary that we have at my church every year. Afterwards my mom and I did a little shopping at a few of our favorite stores. My look was perfect for the chilly and sunny weather. Side note: The first picture below was taken in Kirklands and my mommy was totally in her zone being that is her favorite store (LOL)!

Sunday: My cousin Tosheba is embarking on a new journey in her life and career, where she will be moving to Northern Virginia this upcoming Friday. Her boyfriend along with my family gave her a surprise going away party. She was totally surprised! It was so good being able to spend time with her before she leaves. I can’t wait to go visit her over the summer!

Aveeno & Cetaphil moisturizers…

aveeno and cetaphil

Cetaphil Oil Control Moisturizer | Aveeno Ulta Calming Daily Moisturizer

I’ve talked about skincare a little bit, but not as much as I should being that I am skincare maniac! Taking care of your skin is very important and having a great skincare regimen is the key to having great skin. However, when it comes down to your skincare regimen it is all about finding out what works for you. Side note: I will be doing a post all about my skincare regimen very soon! It will also include the products I use for any blemishes too! I am not going to flaunt and say that I have flawless skin, because I don’t. Yes, I have a few blemishes, but I am totally comfortable going without makeup! Also, never be uncomfortable about having a few blemishes on your face, because no one has flawless or perfect skin! Imperfections ARE what makes us beautiful and do not let anyone tell you otherwise! If you feel that your face needs a little more TLC do not be afraid or hesitate to see a dermatologist. I see an excellent dermatologist that helps keep my skin healthy!

I am very particular about what moisturizer I use on my face being that I have naturally oily skin. When it came down to me changing my moisturizers I had to make sure that I picked one that would help control my oily skin whether I wore makeup or not. Most importantly I had to make sure that it was not too thick or heavy, so that I could keep wearing the same one throughout all of the seasons. The two moisturizers that I live by are Aveeno Ultra Calming daily moisturizer and Cetaphil Oil Control moisturizer.

I use both of them, because they both collectively work wonders for my skin. I use Cetaphil Oil Control moisturizer in the morning especially when I wear make up, because it gives my skin a matte look all day long without having to reapply powder to my face due to oiliness. I wear Aveeno Ulta Calming moisturizer at night after I wash all of my makeup off.

Both of these items can be purchased from any of your local drug stores and the prices of them ranges depending on the store. I usually purchase mine from Target, because they have them on sale quite frequently. However, when I do not purchase them on sale Aveeno Ultra Calming is $13.59 and Cetaphil Oil Control is $13.49. Both of these bottles usually last me up to six months and a little longer even with me using them twice a day.

I think that the price for both of them is great, but I can only speak for myself. It all depends on what you are willing to pay for your skincare products. However, I can definitely say that both of them are worth every penny! Honestly I consider any skincare products less than $25 to be reasonable. If they are over that amount you better believe that I am doing major research on them and checking out reviews (LOL)! I do also believe that if you want good results with your skin sometimes you have to be willing spend a little more of your coins!

Recap: My weekend…

Although my spring break is over I thoroughly enjoyed myself! I know I stated that I was going to have a lot of wonderful posts for you all while I was on break, but I decided otherwise. I spent most of my break shopping, spending time with my loved ones, and more importantly relaxing. It felt so good to sleep in and having absolutely nothing to do on my agenda was everything. I could not have spent my break any other way!

My weekend consisted of doing the same thing and I didn’t bother capturing my looks, because it was nothing too special about them. However, on Sunday I went to church and of course I had to capture my look! I ended up waking up late that morning, but I was glad that I had picked out my clothes the night before. Side note: The printed pants that I wore felt like pajama pants and they were sooo comfortable! I wish Old Navy would have had more prints or colors in them, because I would have definitely gotten more than one pair!

My little cousin Laylah was so patient with me while taking my pictures, so I had to capture her cute little outfit! Side note: It seems like yesterday that she was born and now she’s ten!

OOTD: Monday’s look…

On yesterday I had the pleasure of finally meeting Cherese from Afrophire in person! She and I met each other through Instagram and we eventually became friends. Over the summer she asked me to be the Style and Beauty contributor of Afrophire and our friendship really blossomed after that! She and her husband moved here to VA in January and we made plans to meet each other once they got settled and I had some free time. Yesterday, we went to lunch and it was so great finally getting to meet each other! We live super close to each other, so I can’t wait to spend time with each other. God places people in your life for a reason and I am so glad that He allowed for Cherese and I to cross paths!

I loved my look yesterday! It has been in the 60’s here in VA for the last few days, so I have enjoyed not having to wear a huge coat! I paired a few of my favorite items along with some items that I purchased recently.

Saturday: My mom and I traveled to Moyock, NC to visit family! My little cousins Tamia and Jasmyn are obsessed with Frozen, so we watched the movie a million times within a few hours. My little cousin DJ is one and he was trying to get into everything that he could get his little hands on! My look for Saturday consisted of my favorite fur vest and whatever else I threw on with it (LOL)!
