Sunday’s look…

I love wearing black and white! Those colors make pairing items together so effortless and easy. On Sunday morning when it came down to deciding what I was going to wear to church I immediately knew that I was going to wear black and white, because it wouldn’t take me long to choose an outfit. Sure enough I picked out my outfit in less than five minutes! I paired my favorite stripped shirt with with a simple flowy skirt.

I am loving my braids! Wearing braids makes my life so much easier, because I do not have to deal with the hassle of doing my hair!

Back to school…

IMG_6234

Tomorrow I start my senior year of college! SENIOR YEAR. College has gone by entirely too fast! I am going into this school year with a new outlook and a positive mindset. I am super excited for everything that this school year is going to bring me! I am embarking on many endeavors and I am so grateful for all of the opportunities that God continues to bless me with! Side note: God is crazy faithful! Sometimes we might not understand the different paths that he allows us to travel, but know that His plan is ALWAYS greater than ours.

A few school year tips:

  1. Maintain a consistent schedule: Sticking to your daily schedule will keep you organized and allow you to get things done easier.
  2. Get organized: Get a planner or desk calendar! They are VERY necessary. Getting organized will make your life easy!
  3. You don’t run your body. When it tells you to stop,  just do it. You can’t function or let alone get anything done if your body is not working properly.
  4. Make the most of your school year! College is about making amazing memories while, reaching towards your degree. ENJOY IT!

I am wishing all of you an amazing and prosperous school year!

Styling kimonos: Part I

As you all know I am a major fan of kimonos! I talked about my love for them previously (HERE)! When I was in Orlando a few weeks ago I did some shopping and I found this amazing kimono that I am totally obsessed with! I’ve decided to do a three post series wearing it three different ways.

On Sunday I decided to pair it with a black dress for church! The black dress complimented the other colors in the kimono, while not taking away from it either. It still remained the center of attention!

Journaling…

IMG_6113

Journaling is seriously my life! I’ve always loved journaling, but I’ve been doing it consistently since I was in high school. Now that I am older journaling is so important to me, because there are certain things that you just can’t share with others.

Journaling allows you to be vulnerable without being judged. Yes, we have people in our lives that we share things with, but sometimes you don’t want to share. To be honest sometimes it is best that we keep certain things to ourselves. Everything is not for everybody! Certain things that we go through in life don’t need to be shared with others or at least not right away. When my Nana passed away in October I clung to my journal. I had an extremely hard time dealing with her passing and journaling about it helped me tremendously.

I have three journals, becuase I use them for different purposes. My different types of journals:

  • Expressing: In this journal it mainly consists of me expressing whatever I am going through or feeling.
  • Devotional: In this journal I write about my morning and evening devotionals.
  • Dreams: In this journal talk about my dreams, goals, bucket list, and a lot of other things that I want to do with my life.

You need an outlet to express yourself. Give journaling a try! Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

Also, I am obsessed with buying journals too! I usually purchase mine from TJ Maxx, Marshalls, or Ross because they always have super cute ones!

Five facts about me…

IMG_6087

  1. I always said that after I graduated from college that I would move to New York. That has definitely changed within the last few months! I’m not going to knock it completely, because who knows what my future holds.
  2. I try different beauty products religiously! I do research on them and if they have great reviews I go out and purchase them. It’s an obsession!
  3. Every morning I start my day with a prayer and reading my daily devotional. It is the perfect way for me to start my day!
  4. I could eat Chic-Fil-A every single day! There is one right across from my job and I won’t even tell you how often I eat there!
  5. I’ve never been on a plane before! However, in December I’ll be visiting my cousins in Texas and that will be my first time flying. I am so nervous!

Family vacation: Orlando…

Last week I had such an amazing time in Orlando with my family! I relaxed, went to theme parks, ate AMAZING food, and of course I did some shopping! I loved every minute of my vacation, because I got to spend quality time with my family. My time in Orlando was everything that I wanted and more! I definitely was not ready to come back home!

I had planned on capturing most of my looks, but I was enjoying myself so much that I ended up not taking pictures of a lot them. It was hot as crap in Orlando, so I mainly wore dresses and shorts!

Side note: For a longtime I was so self-conscious about my arms and I did everything possible to hide them! Now I wear my arms out without a care in the world, because I finally stopped caring!
